Nyamagabe Agronomists Rwanda | Nyamagabe: Agronomists to increase agricultural productivity

On October 2012, a meeting was held at Nyamagabe district headquarters between the district administrators and sector authorities to assess the activities of the on-going growing season.

The meeting saw the turn up of Immaculée Mukarwego, vice mayor in charge of economic affairs in Nyamagabe district, agronomists and executive secretaries of all sectors in Nyamagabe district.

The participants highlighted about the smooth running of the growing season but asked agronomists to solve every problem, in order to register increased productivity.

Agriculture officials in sectors were also asked to work close with the residents so that every work is done by the end of the season.

The district mayor told residents to work hard for increased yields because the number of people in the area has been increased by Congolese refugees.

During the meeting, soil erosion issue was highlighted asking agricultural officials to list soil erosion ravaged areas and arrange for a community work.

In addition, agronomists were asked to sensitize residents on village settlement.
