The exemplary farmers in Ngororero district who participated in the program of renovate banana plantations in the beginning of the program are in anticipation of better production.

Fulgence Habineza who resides in Kazabe cell, a farmer who participated in this program says that many times farmers don’t like uprooting their banana plantations or reducing the banana stems with low production but those who did it yet to get much more produce compared to what they used to get. 

Recently, a woman named Anonciata Mutuyimana from Torero cell was given an award by the National Women Council for the development she has gained and renovating her banana plantation was part of it.  With the ongoing lack of food crops in local markets especially among the districts, people who participated in this program are yet to start providing the market with good and big bananas in quantities.

Farmers are still encouraged to participate in this renovation of banana plantation and to learn from those who have been successful; farmers are also to participate in Land Use Consolidation for this program is also more productive as the agronomist of Ngororero sector advised.
