Maize drying place under construction
The executive secretary of Kagano sector in Nyamasheke district, Jean Damascene Nshimiyimana has said that the new maize drying place will increase maize production and solve residents’ problems.
Nshimiyimana says that because of land consolidation, maize productivity has increased in Kagano sector but residents lacked where to dry it from.
To solve the problem, a spacious drying place was set up in Kagano sector to solve farmers’ problems of losing some seeds throughout the process.
Nshimiyimana confirms that the drying place is a solution to the problems of the maize growers’ in Kagano sector and maize yields are really high.
Another advantage of the drying place is that farmers will be getting growing seeds so easily unlike before since maize harvest will be dried and stored properly.
In addition, the drying place will help farmers earn increased money because buyers will be coming to this place to buy many tons of consolidated maize yields.
