Some of farmers in Rulindo District who have been worried about lack of market for their crop production now have hope for market for their produce they are getting ready to exploit after the Rwanda Grains And Cereals Corporation (RGCC) assured them.
In the meeting with cooperative leaders, exemplary farmers and agronomists in this District with Rwanda Grains and Cereals Corporation (RGCC) farmers were promised market for their produce.

According to Gaspard Bayingana a worker of RGCC, this cooperation plan to support farmers to get the right prices for the crops they work so hard to produce.
“RGCC is set to ensure that a farmer gets what is worth of their produce without being taken advantage of, we will be buying their crops on an agreed price and without cheating anyone in the process.” Gaspard Bayingana explained.
Farmers, cooperative leaders and agronomists all agree that farmers usually sell their produce on a little price mainly because of no stable markets.
“Farmers usually sell their crop production on low prices as they lack stable markets but npow that we are getting markets, our production will have some value and getting prices worth our production and on time” says Patrick Hatangimana the chairperson of COAKIRU cooperative in Rukozo sector.
According to Faustin Hagenimana a farmer in Nyirangarama swamp, having market will increase the strength farmers have been putting in farming. “I used to farm any way I could because I had no guarantee that my produce will get market but now it will be a different story.”
RGCC was initiated to provide with the farmers stable markets and stabilize price fluctuations that have been affecting crop produce on Rwandan market. At the beginning, RGCC will only be buying in maize and beans produce.
