Murundi sector, Kayonza District residents have decided start making more manure intending to increase crop production that will lead to enough income for their families.
This request of making more organic manure was still put up by MP Francois Byabarumwanzi together with other Parliamentarians while in the July monthly communal work (Umuganda).
“Such manure is made from maize, beans and sorghum peels which are mixed with cow dung and then soil”, said the MP, who continued explaining saying that before mixing all the substances, they are covered for two months and later mixed to produce required decomposed manure
“When such manure is produces, one is able to get good money from it and if no customers available, they can use it on their farms hence get better production”, said one residents Edouard Ndahayo who still makes such manure.
He added on saying that he can get Rwf400.000 per truck of such manure and if no market he can use it on his farm.
The residents of Murundi again said that using such manure will help increase on the number of people using it in the district since this district is at an 11.2percent in using manure.
“This province has a program of increasing on the number of people using manure so that agriculture and livestock farming production is multiplied”, said the Governor of the Eastern Province Odette Uwamariya.
She added on saying that with such, she believed that the people in this area will develop tremendously.
